Abstract:
To provide a wheel bearing device capable of reducing the weight of a hub ring without using a joint technique.SOLUTION: The wheel bearing device includes an outer ring 2 having double row outside raceway surfaces 2c, 2d on the inner periphery, an inward member consisting of a hub ring 3 having a small-diameter step part 3a extending in the axial direction on the outer periphery and an inner ring 4 pressed into the small-diameter step part 3a of the hub ring 3, and having double row inside raceway surfaces 3c, 4a opposed to the double row outside raceway surfaces 2c, 2d, double row balls 7 rollably stored between both raceway surfaces of the outer ring 2 and the inward member, and an outer side seal member 9 fitted to the outer side opening end of an annular space formed by the outer ring 2 and the inward member, the hub ring 3 being formed of a metal sintered body and having a plastically processed surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
