Title:
WHEEL BEARING FOR MEASURING CONTACT FORCE BETWEEN TIRE AND ROAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002350254
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To arrange a sensor to a stationary member and to arrange both sensors close to each other spatially.

As to all the traveling conditions, a force working between a road, and a tire in a vehicle is also detected in a braking process. The information about the force working currently is used by a travel operation controlling system for optimizing the braking process. A force working on a wheel bearing is measured for optimization of the braking process. By means of the sensor 3 arranged additionally to a carrier 6 for a caliper, a braking force working currently is found continuously. In travel without braking, from a sensor 2 measurement result, a force working between the road and the tire is directly estimated. In the braking process, a supporting force for a brake disc is calculated from the force measured in the wheel bearing, and a force working currently between the road and the tire can be obtained.
