To improve work efficiency by providing a retainer pressed into an opening part of a cylinder, and a boot integrally connected to the retainer so as to seal the opening part of the cylinder.
A boot 5 provided with a retainer 4 and a plate 9 is assembled to a cylinder 2 by pressing the other end part of the retainer 4 into an opening part 2b of the cylinder 2. When the retainer 4 is pressed into the cylinder 2, an outer peripheral part 5a of the boot 5 and an end part 2c of the cylinder 2 are brought into contact with each other, and the plate 9 is brought into contact with the end face of a piston 3 receiving energizing force from a spring 8. With the boot 5 thus assembled to the cylinder 2, the interior of the cylinder 2 is sealed in a liquid-tight state. In addition, since there is no need to provide an engaging groove for assembling the boot, machining work taking account of the surface roughness of the engaging groove is dispensed with. Machining is therefore facilitated, and work efficiency can be improved.
