This wheel state detecting device 10 comprises a plurality of wheel side communication sections 40 for transmitting a frame signal including a wheel state detected by the sensor 30 disposed in each wheel 20 and an identification code of the sensor, and a vehicle body side communication section 60 for receiving the frame signal. The wheel state detecting device 10 further comprises a start command means for simultaneously transmitting a start command signal to the plurality of wheel side communication sections 40, a receiving means for receiving the frame signal transmitted from the plurality of wheel side communication sections 40 in response to the start command signal, and a standby command means for simultaneously transmitting a standby command signal to the plurality of wheel side communication sections 40 when sensor identification codes of which number is the same as that of previously recorded sensors are received.
