Title:
WHEEL CONDITION ESTIMATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3409702
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely estimate a road surface μ gradient in spite of changes of tire air pressure, etc.
SOLUTION: This device is composed of a wheel velocity detecting means 1 detecting the wheel velocity ω1, a pretreatment filter 2 extracting a vibration component Δω1 from the detected wheel velocity, a selecting means 10 selecting output (wheel velocity vibration) Δω1 which is input to a transfer function identification means 3 among the extracted vibration components Δω1, the transfer function identification means 3 which estimates parameters of a transfer function of a continuous time model based on a vibration model of a wheel resonance system from the selected output Δω1 by a least-squares method, a μ gradient calculating means 4 calculating physical quantity concerning to the slip between tires and the road from the identified parameters of the transfer function. The estimating precision of the road face μ gradient is improved, because the road surface μ gradient is estimated by selecting a periodic signal from among the extracted vibration components Δω1.
