Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time and cost for commercializing a wheel drive device which transmits rotation of an electric motor to a wheel after reducing a rotation speed with a speed reduction mechanism.SOLUTION: A wheel drive device is manufactured by integrating the following modules through joint sections of the respective modules in a manner that allows rotation to be transmitted to each other. The above modules include: a drive module A which includes an electric motor 3; a speed reduction module B which includes a planetary gear mechanism (speed reduction mechanism) 4 to reduce a rotation speed of the electric motor; and an output module C which includes a hub 2 to transmit rotation output by the planetary gear mechanism 4 to wheels. Thus, the wheel drive device can be manufactured by selecting and assembling appropriate modules from those preliminarily designed according to required function and performance and thereby reducing time and cost for commercializing the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
