Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel integral type electric motor to improve cooling efficiency and facilitate manufacture maintenance.
SOLUTION: A wheel integral electric motor comprises a cylinder 2 having a cooling water passage 12 formed in the inner part and fitted in the outer periphery of an axle 1 to support a car body in a non-rotation state; a wheel 3 rotatably supported through a bearing 5 fitted in one end of the outer periphery of the cylinder 2; a rotor frame 4 and a permanent magnet 11 coupled to the wheel 3 and rotatably supported and through a bearing 6, fitted in the other end of the outer periphery of the cylinder coupled to the wheel 3, and rotationally driving the wheel 3; a stator coil 8 and a stator core 9 arranged in the vicinity of the inner side of the permanent magnet 11 and arranged on the outer periphery of the cylinder between the two bearings; and a cooling jacket 7 brought into surface contact with and fitted in the inner surface of the stator core 9 and fitted in the outer peripheral portion of the cylinder 2. The cooling jacket 7 is provided at an internal part with a plurality of cooling water passages 14 communicated with the cooling water passage 12, and cooling water flowing through cooling water passages 12 and 14 cools the stator core 9.
