Title:
WHEEL MADE OF ALUMINIUM ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5650801
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the durable life of a wheel made of aluminium against the radial load for obtaining a thinner rim by providing shot-peening layers on surfaces of well radius parts and bead-seat radius parts on the periphery of the rim of the wheel.

CONSTITUTION: A wheel made of aluminium alloy is constructed by joining an aluminium disk B provided with a hub-fixing face 4 and penetrated holes 5 of hub- fixing bolts on the side to the inside of an aluminium rim A provided with bead- seat radius parts 1 and 1', and well radius parts 2 and 2' concavely on the periphery (tire-fixing face) and flange parts 3 and 3' projected on both sides by the process of spreading. At this stage, both radius parts 1, 1', 2, and 2' on the periphery of the rim A, especially, well radius parts 2 and 2' are provided with shot-peening layers for giving compression residual stress thereto. This construction serves to improve the durable life of the wheel against the radial load.
