A wheel 3 for a self-propelled machine is provided for the self-propelled machine 1 traveling on an overhead line 5 provided with a damper 9. The wheel 3 includes: a wheel body 6 which has a groove 63 provided along a circumferential direction on an outer peripheral surface 62; a gear 7 which is provided rotatably around a rotating shaft 61 of the wheel body 6 and meshed with the damper 9; and rotation control means 8 which is provided between the wheel body 6 and the gear 7 to restrict relative rotation of the gear 7 with respect to the wheel body 6 to a constant range.
