PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel speed sensor capable of reducing time, cost and the like related to production, and provide a method for manufacturing the wheel speed sensor.SOLUTION: A wheel speed sensor 1 is manufactured by: sealing a Hall IC 20 with a synthetic resin to form a resin molding part 30; connecting an electric wire 7a to a metal terminal 22 of the Hall IC 20 exposed from the resin molding part 30; sealing them with the synthetic resin to form an exterior part 10. The resin molding part 30 and the exterior part 10 are formed by the same synthetic resin. The metal terminal 22 of the Hall IC 20 is bent to the side of the flat surface opposite to one flat surface having a capacitor 23 to be embedded in the resin molding part 30. In the step of forming the resin molding part 30, a rib in contact with the metal terminal 22 of the Hall IC 20 is provided in a die, and when the Hall IC 20 is housed into the die, the metal terminal 22 is bent.
