Abstract:

To provide a wheel support structure for a motorcycle, which includes a ball bearing with a magnetic encoder accurately detecting rotation speed without impairing assemblability.

In the wheel support structure for a motorcycle, a surface where a magnetic encoder of a ball bearing 21a with the magnetic encoder, which is one of two single row ball bearings 4 and 21a, is detected in provided not in a surface perpendicular to the shaft limited in dimension but in the inner peripheral surface of a cylinder extended in the axial direction, so that a large axial length and large area per pole can be thereby secured. Alternatively, the magnetic encoder can be provided inside a space surrounded by the two rows of bearings 4 and 21a and a hub 6, not on a fork 2 side limited in axial dimension, enough space between both the bearings can be used, and the area per pole can be secured larger.
