To provide a wheel supporting double row rolling bearing of structure capable of securing strength and rigidity in a root part of a flange 7 and reducing the weight thereof at the same time and, further, easy to secure the rolling contact fatigue life of an inner ring raceway 8a of an outside row in the axial direction if necessary.
Inner diameter of the depth of a cylindrical pilot part 11, which is provided in an outer end of a hub 2a in the axial direction, close to the inside in the axial direction is formed larger than the inner diameter of an outer end opening part of the pilot part 11 in the axial direction. With this structure, quantity of machining in the root part of the flange 7 is increased to raise hardness of the root part, and strength and rigidity are improved without increasing thickness of the root part, and at the same time, the weight can be reduced. Direction of a metal flow in the inner ring raceway part 8a is accurately arranged to easily secure the rolling contact fatigue life of the inner ring raceway 8a.
