To provide a wheel traveling body capable of efficiently going up a level difference.
The traveling body 100 includes a vehicle body 10 having front and rear wheels; and an arm 20 mounted to a lower surface of the vehicle body. In the arm 20, a distal end can be contacted with the ground. The traveling body 100 goes up the level difference by the following sequence when the level difference higher than the present ground-contact surface is present at a front side. (1) The distal end of the arm is contacted with the ground at a front side of the level difference between front wheel ground-contact points and a center of gravity of the vehicle body. (2) It advances while lifting up the front wheels by the arm until the front wheels are positioned on an upper surface of the level difference. (3) The distal end of the arm is contacted with the upper surface of the level difference between the rear wheel ground-contact points and the center of gravity of the vehicle body. (4) It advances while lifting up the rear wheels by the arm until the rear wheels are positioned on the upper surface of the level difference. The traveling body 100 can efficiently go up the level difference by moving the arm 20 attached to a lower surface of the vehicle body along the action sequence.
