Abstract:
PURPOSE: To get a wheel for a twin tire which can improve the abrasion resistance and the straight advance stability of a twin tire without lowering run flat performance with simple structure.
CONSTITUTION: For a wheel 10 for a twin tire, the first wheel part 10A and the second wheel 10B are coupled by a coupling 10C. Through holes 32 and 36 are bored in side walls 30 and 34 and thick boards 24 and 28. The thick boards 24 and 28 are provided with longitudinal hole parts 38 and 40 communicating with air chargers 12A and 14A and through holes 32 and 36. The through hole 32 and the through hole 36 are coupled with each other by an air duct 42. The longitudinal holes 38 and 40 are provided with a pair of valve devices 45, and in case that the difference of inside pressure between two pieces of pneumatic radial tires 12 and 14 is smaller than the specified value, both sides of the longitudinal holes 38 and 40 are put in communication state, and in case that the difference of inside pressure between the two pieces of radial tires 12 and 14 is large than the specified value, one side of the longitudinal holes 38 and 40 is closed.
