PURPOSE: To easily produce a wheel having a hollow part by splitting and spinning the peripheral edge of the front plate of a formed disk to provide supplementary parts of a rim, splitting and spinning the bent part of the rear plate of the formed disk to provide a main part of the rim and putting them together.

CONSTITUTION: The peripheral edge of the front plate 12 of the formed disk is split by a splitting tool 45 into materials 47, 49 for the supplementary parts of the rim and spun to provide the supplementary part 14 of the rim. The bent part T the rear plate 13 of the disk having the material 99 for the main part of the rim provided by spinning is split by a splitting tool 95 into the materials 97, 99 for the main part of the rim and spun to provide a main part 17 of the rim having a supporting tube 22. Both disks 12, 13 are superimposed thereon. By this method a hollow part can easily be provided on the disk D and a light- weight car wheel can easily be manufactured.
