The wheel welding line which can be commonly used for the full face wheel and the conventional wheel comprises a welding station 10 having a welding torch 11, a carrying-in line 40 for carrying-in the workpiece 2 composed of the tack-welded rim and disk for the full face wheel 2A or the finally fitted rim and disk for the conventional wheel 2B toward the welding station 10 and a carrying-out line 45 for carrying-out the workpiece 2 composed of the rim and disk welded at the welding station 10 from the welding station, a general purpose robot 20 which carries-in the workpiece from the carrying-in line to the welding station 10 and carries-out the welded workpiece from the welding station to the carrying-out line 45 and has a robot hand 21 provided with an axis capable of tilting and turning, and a chucking mechanism 30 which is attached to the robot hand 21 and can grip the workpiece 2.
