Title:
WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6012312
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely prevent the slip between a tire and a rim and as well to reduce the weight of the rim, by providing a plurality of apertures in the wall surface of the flange section of the rim, the apertures being piereced therethrough.

CONSTITUTION: A wheel has a plurality of apertures 6 which are formed spaced at intervals in the wall surface of the frange section 5 of a rim 2 that is made into contact with the bead section 7a of a tire 7, the apertures 6 piercing through the wall surface. Therefore, the outer surface of the bead section 7a is bit into the apertures 6 due to the infllation of the tire 7 which is charged with air pressure, so that the bead section 7a is locked in the rim 2. Accordingly no circumferential slip is brought about between the tire 7 and the rim 2 even if a vehicle such as, for example, a motocross motor-cycle fiercely runs. Further, the coventionally used bead check for preventing the slip of the tire may be made unecessary, and as well the weight of the rim may be reduced due to the provision of a plurality of apertures 6 formed in the flange section 5, thereby the rotating inertia of the wheel may be reduced.
