To wholly lessen the height size of a tension device of a wheelchair fixing apparatus mounted on a floor in a vehicle.

The tension device related to this invention includes a binding part 20 for fixing the wheelchair S, a tension direction setting member 45 which operates in order that the binding part 20 applies the tension to the wheelchair S from the direction of predetermined position, a reel capable of rewinding the binding part 20, and a reel rotating mechanism 30 which can apply the fixed tension to the binding part, and the binding part 20 is composed of a belt 22 which is front-back foldable and passes through the tension direction setting part and a wire 24 which is narrower than the belt 22 and wound to the reel, and the site where the belt 22 is hung in the tension direction setting member 45 is positioned parallel to the floor surface F of the vehicle interior.
