To provide a lightweight and inexpensive wheelchair fixing device which prevents a loose long traction member such as a wire from being caught by a gear, without a cover member that increases the number of components.
A first regulation means for regulating backward movement of a wheelchair Wc and a second regulation means for regulating forward movement of the wheelchair are provided in a wheelchair housing chamber of a vehicle. The second regulation means is provided with a plate-like base member 2 on the floor F of the wheelchair housing chamber 10a. On a plate surface below the base member 2, a drum 3 with a first wire 5a wound thereon is installed rotatably. On a plate surface above the base member 2, a first gear 4 is mounted integrally, with the rotation axis thereof aligned with that of the drum 3. While a hook 51 is engaged with a rear-side frame Wc2 of the wheelchair housed in the wheelchair housing chamber in the vehicle, the drum 3 is rotated in the winding direction by a power transmission means 8 so as to stretch a long traction means 5, in cooperation with the first regulation means. Thus the wheelchair is fixed to be immovable.
