To provide a wheelchair fixing device capable of surely fixing the wheelchair by securing an engagement amount between an intermediate gear and a drum gear, even when a winding amount of a wire around a drum is small in fixing a wheelchair.

A wheelchair fixing device includes: a drive part; an intermediate gear driven by the drive part and having a toothless part and a toothed part; a drum gear driven by the intermediate gear; a drum driven by the drum gear; a traction member having a hook provided at one end side thereof and having the other end side wound around the drum; and an biasing member biasing the drum in the direction where the traction member is wound around the drum. The drum gear and the drum are connected via a drive avoiding means that prevents the drum gear from driving the drum during an interval from when the intermediate gear and the drum gear are not engaged by the toothless part of the intermediate gear till when the intermediate gear is driven by the drive part to make the toothed part of the intermediate gear and the drum gear engage with each other by a predetermined amount.
