Abstract:
To provide a wheelchair and a walking assistance instrument capable of changing its posture to a use posture easily without impairing rigidity.SOLUTION: A wheelchair 2 includes: a pair of side frames 4; a connection frame 6 for connecting the pair of side frames 4 so as to change postures to a use posture in which a space between the pair of side frames 4 is expanded and to a folded posture in which the space is narrowed; and a posture maintaining device 14 for maintaining the space between the pair of side frames 4 in the use posture. The posture maintaining device 14 includes an elastic body for energizing the pair of side frames 4 in the use posture in a direction to expand the space between the pair of side frames 4. The posture maintaining device 14 can also be applied to a walking assistance instrument in the same way as to the wheelchair 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
