Abstract:
An auxiliary steering device for a carrier comprises a caster wheel device including a carrier body provided with main wheels, and a sub-wheel supporting device for connecting sub-wheels to the carrier body while rotatably supporting the sub-wheels about horizontal and vertical shafts, an inclining device capable of incliningly moving the sub-wheels laterally to a direction of advancement of the carrier body, and a remote operating device for remote operation of the inclining device. The inclining device comprises an inclinedly supporting device for inclinably connecting the caster wheel device to the carrier through an inclined shaft extending in the direction of advancement of the carrier body, and a gear device, to which an inclining drive force is transmitted, for incliningly moving the caster wheel device. The gear device is set to a large gear ratio, by which a reaction force caused by an external force applied on the sub-wheels is reduced, and the remote operating device is one for remote operation of the gear device.
