Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain optimum color reproduction at all times by configuring the controller with 1st and 2nd arithmetic means, a comparator means and a revision means so as to prevent improper color change in an image.
SOLUTION: R, G, B color separate section 51 of a color signal processing section 5 detect R, G, B color information and the result is fed to a white balance gain calculation section 53 via a mean picture element detection section 52 as each color value. The calculation section 53 calculates active coefficients K1, K2 to satisfy G=K1.R and G=K2.B based on each color mean value of the received R, G, B and provides an output of the mean values R, B and the coefficients to a white balance arithmetic section 54. The arithmetic section 54 compares the current coefficients K1, K2 of received image data with precedence coefficients K1, K2 calculated from image data received in the operation n-time (n-1, 2,...) preceding to decide whether or not white balance is to be revised. Thus, an image is substantially not frequently changed like a video telephone system, a deviation from the white balance having been caused in a conventional controller due to crossing of something in front of a screen is prevented.
