To provide a white paperboard that causes no partial peel-off of ink even when the printed part of the front scrubs with the back face, shows excellent back face printability as well as offset printing workability and punching work efficiency.
In the white paperboard having a pigment coated layer on the surface, the back face is coated with a coating mixture comprising at least one platelet pigment selected from kaoline, talc and mica having an average particle size of less than 2 m in an amount of more than 65 mass% based on the total pigment and 10 to 40 mass% per 100 mass% of latex having a glass transition point of -50 to 0C to form a pigment-coated layer having a coating weight of 0.5 to 10 g/m2 and a dynamic friction coefficient amplitude of less than 0.1 on the back face.
