Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pertussis animal model that faithfully reproduces prominent cough attack in the Bordetella pertussis infection in humans, has high convenience at an easy rate and can be used in evaluation, manufacture and research of pharmaceutical products.SOLUTION: A pertussis model animal of the present invention is provided for using a mouse having high convenience at an easy rate and faithfully reproducing prominent cough attack in the Bordetella pertussis infection in humans. By using an animal model of the present invention, it is useful for the clarification of a cough attack mechanism and the specification of an inducer of the cough attack, the screening evaluation of pharmaceutical products to the pertussis and the production of the pharmaceutical products. According to the evaluation method of the present invention, an object of an evaluable vaccine is expanded and the evaluation based on the cough attack counts directly related to the suppression of infection expansion becomes possible.SELECTED DRAWING: None
