PURPOSE: To obtain the wick useable for long period without change by a method wherein the wick is formed physically integrated non-woven cloth, and its end surface is abutted on and partly overlapped for joining, thereby a heat-proof combustion unit and a fuel suction unit are firmly integrated.

CONSTITUTION: In the lower end surface of non-woven cloth 2b of the heat-proof burning unit 2 a concaved groove is provided, in which the upper end surface of the fuel suction unit 3 is inserted, air then by the use of needle punch many fibres of short length for the external layers of surface and back sides in the heat-proof burning unit 2, the random-web layers 2b2 are penetrated each other from the surface through the back, winding a random-web round another in order to secure firmly the joining section abutted on both 2.3 which are integrated and solidified so as to not separate. For the heat-proof combustion unit 2 and the fuel suction unit 3 of the wick body 1, neither sewing threads nor metal joining members or the like are employed, therefore, incomplete combustion, inability of wick movement up and down, damage to the device are eliminated. Also as the joining section is properly abutted, partly overlapped and integrated firmly, sucking fuel is uniformly worked without decrease.
