Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the height and depth of the system and to provide the image of high contrast by compensating the chromatic aberration of video light from a condenser lens, enlarging the video light by changing over the angle of the optical axis of the image and projecting it on a reflection mirror.
SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal projection display device 20 using a wide viewing angle liquid crystal projection lens system, a condenser lens L9 confronts the optical exit plane of an image constituing element 21 outputting an image for enlarging/projecting it on a screen 24 and converges an inputted light beam of the image. A first lens group G1 compensates the chromatic aberration of the light beam of image and a second lens group G2 changes over the angle of the optical axis of image transmitted from the first lens group G1. A third lens group G3 enlarges the light of image transmitted from the second lens group G2 and projects it on a reflection mirror 23. Consequently, the height H' and the deoth D' of the system are reduced and the bright image of high contrast is obtained.
