To provide a wind power generator capable of simply measuring wind speed because in a wind power generator, an anemometer detects wind speed and the rotational speed of a wind mill is controlled according to the magnitude of the wind speed, however, in many cases, the anemometer is arranged separately from the wind mill and wiring is complicated for installation to increase costs.
In this wind power generator in which the wind mill 1 receives wind and a generator 2 generates electric power, a wind mill driving means is composed of the generator 2 and an electric power supply means 6, and the wind mill 1 is rotated by performing power running of the generator 2 by electric power supplied from the electric power supply means 6. The electric power supply means 6 has a relay 6a as a switching element, and an output adjusting means 6b controlling electric power supplied to the generator 2. The wind mill is rotated by electric power supplied to the generator 2 by the wind mill driving means and wind power at that time, and wind speed corresponding to electric power at that time is calculated, thereby wind speed can be measured.
