Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a wind power generator that is capable of maximizing use of wind power with a vertical-axis windmill and that can perform control suitable for various purposes such as prevention of damage due to strong winds and ease of maintenance. As a means for solution, a plurality of guide vanes (10a - 10f) having a pivoting axis (4) parallel to a rotary shaft (3) of the vertical-axis windmill are provided around the rotary shaft (3) so as to surround the periphery of the vertical-axis windmill (turbine (2)), and a guide vane driving gear motor (18) is provided for each guide vane (10a - 10f). In addition, a control unit (8) adjusts the degree that the guide vanes (10a - 10f) are open by controlling the guide vane driving gear motors (18) on the basis of the wind strength, such as wind direction, wind speed, and wind pressure measured by a vane anemometer (7).
