PURPOSE: To utilize the capacity of winder facility upto the rating thereof and to shorten the operating time per a single winding roll by determining the diameter of a rewind roll based on outputs from a rewind roll speed detector and a winding drum speed detector, determining the flywheel effect of the rewind roll based on the diameter of the rewind roll and then determining an accelerating/decelerating time of the rewind roll based on the flywheel effect of the rewind roll and the capacity of a rewind roll driver.
CONSTITUTION: Diameter of a rewind roll is determined by a rewind roll diameter operating circuit 13 based on outputs from a rewind roll speed detector 3 and a winding drum speed detector 9 and the diameter of a rewind drum. GD2 (flywheel effect) of the rewind roll is then determined by a rewind roll GD2 operating circuit 14 based on a rewind roll diameter D, a roll width L and a roll density ρ. An accelerating/decelerating time operating circuit 16 then operates an accelerating/decelerating time based on a GD2= πD4Lρ/4 of roll the capacity 15 of a roll driver and a winding speed reference 17, and an acceleration/deceleration rate limit circuit 18 determines the acceleration/ deceleration rate of the winder driver based on the winding speed reference and the accelerating/decelerating time.
