Abstract:

To provide a winder capable of performing an improved conveyance unit monitoring in a closed conveyance system.

The winder has a closed conveyance system for a caddy. The caddy has a cop (3) and a fitting spindle to convey the cop and a cop sleeve (4). The fitting spindle has an information carrier for the cop or the cop sleeve. The conveyance system is provided with at least one reader (24) to read the information carrier. The winder is provided with a stay section (31) branched off from the conveyance system, a switching mechanism (38) disposed at the entrance of the stay section, and a control unit (30) connected to the reader (24). When an abnormality is detected in information read by the control unit, the switching mechanism is controlled in order to detour the corresponding caddy through the stay section.
