PURPOSE: To enable the wire rod to be wound efficiently without the use of a flyer by winding the stored wire rod around the storage reel before hand together with the succeeding wire rod.

CONSTITUTION: A storage reel 4 is fitted to the periphery of a body of rotation 2 with an axis 6 and is made to do a satellitic movement around a winding 1. A winding axis 1 winds up wire rod 5 between a flange 7 and a removable jig 8. Then the coil thus wound is taken out of the winding axis 1 by removing the jig 8. The starting portion to wind the wire rod 5 supplied from a supply reel 3 is wound off in advance to the storage reel 4 by the length as required. If the winding axis 1 is rotated adding the tension to the (stored) wire rod wound around the storage reel, then the (succeeding) wire rod supplied from the supply reel 3 is wound between the flange 7 and jig 8. If the body of rotation 2 is rotated in the identical direction a higher speed than the winding axis at the same time, then the stored wire rod stored in advance to the storage reel 4 is wound around the winding axis 1 in proportion to the time thus hastened.
