This winding machine constituted to transmit the rotational force of a driving shaft 1 to a driven shaft 2 by a plurality of gears interposed between the driving shaft 1 connected to a drive source, and the driven shaft 2 connected to a load hanging pulley 3, is provided with the friction clutch 6 for limiting the rotational force to at least one gear out of the plurality of gears. A friction member included in the friction clutch 6 is formed by bonding the friction material 10 to one face of a sheet-like core material 17 capable of idling on the driven shaft 2, and the friction material 10 is kept in constant pressure contact with the gear 9 included in the friction clutch 6.
