A wire winding device feeds a wire 2 extracted from a finish rolling mill 1 to a poling drum 7 through an approach table 3 and winds it like a coil. Just after the rear end of the wire separates from the finish rolling mill, rotation speeds of a guide roll 4 and pinch roll 6 of the approach table and the poling drum 7 are simultaneously increased to make the feeding speed of the rear end of the wire faster than a conventional feeding speed.
