PURPOSE: To permit automatic winding-up of wire free from wire twist by arranging bobbins in parallel and winding a wire several times on a new bobbin after winding on an old bobbin comes to the end and cutting the wire on the bobbin on which winding is completed, during the process where the wire is divided onto a plurality of bobbins from a main bobbin.

CONSTITUTION: When winding on a bobbin 2b is completed, a rotary table 1 is turned to shift a new bobbin 2a to the position of a flyer 3, and the terminal edge of the wire 8 on the bobbin 2b is drawn-out. Then the wire 8 is wound several times onto the new bobbin 2a, while transferring the flyer 3 in the axial direction. Then, the winding edge part on the bobbin 2b is cut in the vicinity of the beginning of winding on the bobbin 2a. Then, winding on the bobbin 2a is started. In this case, preparatory winding on the bobbin 2a is performed in the degree where the beginning of winding on the bobbin 2a is not loosen on cutting. With such a constitution, deterioration of quality such as wire twist is prevented, and winding work can be automated.
