Abstract:
The side window for high speed trains is of insulated double glazing type, with a laminated outer pane (8) and a plain inner pane (10) in an extruded aluminium frame (12). The glass panes are fixed to the frame by an adhesive strip (26) over the frame web (20). - A laquer coating (32) protects the strip against light degeneration. A sealer strip (28) round the frame seals the unit against damp. The frame is provided with flanges (36), by which it is bolted to the vehicle body wall.
