Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a side glazing for motor vehicle having satisfactory specifications both from the static standpoint and from the view point of accident safety.
CONSTITUTION: The side glazing for motor vehicle of this invention is a composite side glazing 1 formed from two thermally tempered individual glazings, each individual glazing has thickness of 2.0 to 3.0 mm, the average tensile stresses at the core parts in a marginal area 5 and a central zone 6 are respectively smaller than the tensile stress, which is required in the case of specified glazing thickness concerning a standardized destructive actin, by 5 to 15% and 20 to 40%.
