PURPOSE: To prevent backlash, in a window wiper driving device to be functioned by a drive motor while employing a push-pull control cable, by leading out the cable approximately in the center of a rack mechanism for rolling a wiper arm shaft through a pinion gear.

CONSTITUTION: A pinion gear 3 is secured to a wiper arm shaft 2 provided at the base section of a wiper arm 1 and said shaft 2 is supported rotatably at one side section of rack casing 7. A rack 4 is contained slidably in the casing 7 to engage the rack gear 5 formed at one side of rack 4 with the pinion gear 3. A groove 6 for inserting the inner rope 11 of cable is made at the other side of rack 4 while a projection 8 is made while slightly inclining from the center of rack casing 7 against the longitudinal direction. Then the inner rope 11 is pulled out through the inclined hole 14 in the projection 8 and coupled to driving means thus to slide the inner rope 11 reciprocally in the directions A, B.
