The wine opener 1 comprises a moving member 5 which is moves up and down by the turn of an operating lever 4 fitted to a body 2 while being guided by the body 2, a screw 7 whose upper end is rotatably supported by a support 6 of the moving member 5 that is located above between the counter bases 3a of a grip/fix lever 3 and front end is directed downward, a rotation guide member 8 which gives the screw 7 rotation as the screw 7 passes through the guide member 8 and is capable of moving up and down relative to the body 2, a stopper 15 which restricts the upward move of the rotation guide member 8 at a given position, and a releasing member 16 which releases the rotation guide member 8 from the movement restriction by the stopper 15. The stopper 15 is a lock member that moves horizontally from both sides of the rotation guide member 8 and locks the guide member 8 by cramping it.
