To provide a wiper device that can enhance the bending strength of a wiper blade and maintain a following characteristic of the wiper blade with respect to a windshield.
The wiper device has a wiper blade 17a, that is attached to a wiper arm and wipes off adhering matters, wherein the wiper blade 17a has a blade rubber, a retaining member 20, vertebrae 24, and a coupling member. Reinforcing members 25 are attached at least in both sides among both sides of the attachment location of the coupling member in the longitudinal direction of the vertebrae 24. The reinforcing members 25 are configured to be deformable along the direction in which the wiper blade 17a is pressed against the windshield. The reinforcing members 25 are configured so that the bending strength in a direction in which the wiper blade 17a is pressed against the windshield is weaker than the bending strength in a direction along the wiping operation.
