PURPOSE: To reduce troublesomeness and to improve forward visual sense by providing a means made to a sweep characteristic wherein deceleration speed of wiper speed is largely reduced on the way of deceleration side in a wiping stroke of a wiper blade.
CONSTITUTION: Speed of a motor 4 in a motor part 14 is variably controlled by input of signal from a switch 11 in a wiper switch part 10, via a drive control unit 13 in a control unit 12. Respective positions of OFF, INT, LOW, and HIGH are provided to the switch 11. Moreover, a position detecting switch 15 is provided to a wiper driving system, and revolution speed of the motor 4 is feedback-controlled by the position detection signal thereof. In the case of variable control of the motor revolution speed by the control unit 13, where T is the time required from a starting point to a finishing point and S is a wiping area, wiping action is made to wipe 0.55S in early 0.4T, to wipe 0.25S in middle 0.35T, and to wipe 0.02S in final 0.25T.
