To obtain an auxiliary agent for effectively wiping an adhesive sticking to the surface of a wallpaper by incorporating a flocculant exhibiting flocculation activity to a wallpaper adhesive.
As a flocculant is preferable an aqueous solution of sodium borate. For the aqueous solution of sodium borate instantaneously flocculates a starch-based adhesive composed mainly of starch and a starch-based adhesive containing a PVA protective colloidcontaining synthetic resin emulsion, which are standard wallpaper adhesives, to cause their gelation. The adhesive in a gel state does not spread around on the surface when wiped unlike one in a pasty state and is easily removed. Hence, as auxiliary agents for wiping a wallpaper adhesive composed mainly of starch can be employed further a crosslinking agent for starch such as epichlorohydrin, phosphorus oxychloride, phosphoric anhydride, trimetaphosphate salts, hexametaphosphate salts and boric acid. If required, a surfactant is further incorporated to improve penetrability of the agents.
