To obtain wiping cloth which feels soft, which excels in dimensional stability and which demonstrates satisfactory wiping workability by using a thick denier fiber for the inner layer of knit fabric and an extra fine fiber with a swelling for the surface layer, with each fiber having a specific value for a single fiber fineness.
The wiping cloth is high density knit fabric with a combined fiber yarn consisting of an extra fine synthetic fiber temporarily stranded with a single fiber fineness of 0.1 denier or less and a thick fiber with a single fiber fineness of 1 denier or above. The thick fiber forms the comparatively inner layer of the knit fabric while the extra fine fiber appears in the comparatively surface layer with a swelling; using as surface fabric a high density knit fabric with both fibers interlaced with each other, the wiping cloth is structured for a bowling ball. In this case, the arrangement of the extra fine fiber is made to be disarranged to such extent that the stitch is not seen of the knitted surface in the surface fabric. In addition, the wiping cloth is such that the high density knit fabric of the surface fabric contains at least 50-80wt.% of the extra fine fiber and that the single fiber consisting mainly of the extra fine fiber comprises both the well and the course with 25,000 fibers/inch or more.
