PURPOSE: To improve working accuracy by keeping tension of wire electrode constant by way of placing rotation axis of the wire electrode feeding reel vertically.

CONSTITUTION: Wirecut discharge working is performed by applying pulse voltage between wire electrode 4 and work, and feeding the wire electrode 4 from wire feeding reel 6. Reel installation axle 7 of the wire feeding reel 6 is installed in vertical direction, and a brake device 15 is installed to the reel installation axle 7 applying braking force to the wire feeding reel. By this way, uneveness of reel rotation caused by deviation of load to the wire feeding reel can be prevented, and the wire electrode is given with a certain preset tension, and the fluctuation of tension is kept to minimum. Therefore, the working accuracy will be improved an the cutout of the wire electrode is prevented.
