Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire electric discharge machine capable of dispensing with an unnecessary retry operation during automatic wire connection.SOLUTION: A wire electric discharge machine according to the present invention including wire electrode deflection detection means for detecting deflection of a wire electrode delivered during automatic wire connection, comprises: wire delivery means delivering the wire electrode after the wire electrode deflection means detects the deflection of the wire electrode; timing means calculating time since the deflection of the wire electrode is detected; determination means determining whether the wire electrode deflection means detects the deflection of the wire electrode after the time calculated by the timing means exceeds predetermined time; and means for, when the determination means detects the deflection of the wire electrode, executing an automatic wire connection retry operation for rewinding the wire electrode, and for, when the determination means does not detect the deflection of the wire electrode, continuing to deliver the wire electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
