To provide a wire harness structure which attains weight reduction while reducing a burden of a first control means, and an illumination unit having the wire harness structure.
The wire harness structure 4, which connects a plurality of illumination loads 2 and a control unit 3 for outputting a control signal to control each independently these plurality of illumination loads 2, includes a first wire harness WH1 consisting of a power source line L11 connected to the control unit 3, a grounding line L12, and a signal line L13 in which the control signals for each illumination load 2 output from the control unit 3 are transmitted in multiple, a second wire harness WH2 consisting of a first electric wire L21 connected in common to one end of the plurality of illumination loads 2 and a plurality of second electric wires L22 which are respectively connected to the other end of the plurality of illumination loads 2, and a relay connector 5 which connects the first wire harness WH1 and the second wire harness WH2. Chips which control power supply to each illumination load 2 according to the control signals transmitted from the control unit 3 are built in the relay connector 5.
