Abstract:
To provide a wire for molten metal formation excellent in arc stability in welding for a long time.SOLUTION: A wire for molten metal formation is made from Ti or a Ti alloy, has an oxygen condensed layer on the surface, and contains a metal compound having at least one metal selected from a group of alkali metal and alkali earth metal such that the alkali metal and/or the alkali earth metal is 0.002 to 0.050 mass% in total to the total mass of the wire. Cracks with which the metal compound is filled are formed on the surface, and the area ratio of the cracks is 4 to 25%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
