Title:
WIRE-ROD ROLLING MILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3308924
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire-rod rolling mill having one common motor to drive two 4-roll rolling mills arranged on two stands of the final finishing pass, thus making it possible to reduce equipment cost, expand free-size rolling possible range, and miniaturize a motor.
SOLUTION: Between two 4-roll rolling mills P1 and P2 arranged at the end of a continuous finish rolling line Ls of a wire rod S and one motor M to commonly drive them, a change-over speed increaser 1 dedicated to one 4-roll rolling mill P1 and a common change-over speed increaser 2 connected to the speed increaser 1 and the other 4-roll rolling mill P2 are installed. The free-size rolling range can be expanded by changing the speed increase ratio of the dedicated change-over speed increaser 1. By changing the common change- over speed increaser 2, it becomes possible for a motor with smaller capacity to cope with a wide range of diameters from large to small.
