Abstract:
To provide a wire rope with excellent functionality, such as excellent recognizability.
A wire rope 1 used in medical fields includes a rope body 1A which is formed by twisting a plurality of (seven) twisted wires 2. The twisted wire 2 is formed by twisting a plurality of (seven) wires 3 made of a metallic material. A thermoplastic resin material fills the space between the twisted wires 2 of the rope body 1A. As the resin material is exposed in the space between the twisted wires 2 on the surface of the rope body 1A, a resin material spiral part 10A in a spiral form around the axial line of the rope body 1A is formed on the surface of the rope body 1A.
