Abstract:
To provide a wire saw or the like that can prevent scattering of an object to be cut off (workpiece) at a point in completing cutting off of the workpiece.SOLUTION: A wire saw comprises: wire traveling means for allowing a wire to travel in a lengthwise direction in the state where the wire is stretched; tensile force adjusting means for adjusting the tensile force of the wire; workpiece (object to be cut off) feeding means for feeding a workpiece in a direction pushing against the wire; curved state detection means for detecting the curved state of the wire; tensile force control means for performing control of adjusting the tensile force of the wire for the tensile force adjusting means on the basis of the curved state of the wire; and feed speed control means for performing control of adjusting the feeding speed of the workpiece for the workpiece feeding means on the basis of the curved state of the wire.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
